				Rev. Dr. Richard Mant Sermon on Cruelty to Animals Edward Berens, A Memoir of the Life of Bishop Mant (London, 1849). "During his residence at Buriton, Mr. Mant preached and published a Sermon, entitled, "Reflections on the sinfulness of cruelty to animals; occasioned by a benefaction made to the town of Southampton, for a Sermon, on the subject of cruelty to animals, to be preached at each of the parish churches in yearly succession." The task having been performed five years ago by the Rector of one of the parish, (Dr. Mant) was this year delegated to his son. (Edward Berens, A Memoir of the Life of Bishop Mant (1849).
